Job Description

The Research Assistant in this project collects data from high school students, parents, teachers and project staff in a randomized controlled trial of an intervention called RENEW (Rehabilitation for Empowerment, Natural Supports, Education and Work.) The Research Assistant will:
1. Meet with students and families to explain the project and obtain informed consent.
2. Conduct face-to-face interviews and administer questionnaires to students and educators every six months.
3. Enter data into the project database.
4. Verify accuracy and validity of data entered and correct any errors found.
5. Engage as a project team member and attend trainings and grant meetings.
6. Attend to and compile research with confidentiality protocols.
7. Work as a member of the project research team.

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, education or related field; experience with computer software programs and technology; attention to detail.
2. Experience with either a course, an internship, a research project, or on the job training using data to make decisions.
3. Interest and ability to work with students, educators, administrators and other professionals.
4. Strong organizational skills, particularly for tracking ongoing data collection across multiple schools.
5. Interest and abilities in research data collection.
6. Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with data collection and management preferred.
7. PBIS, special education, counseling, and/or mental health experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional desirable qualifications:
– Some graduate coursework
– Research experience

Physical Demands

- Must have own car and driver’s license
– Location of driving is in the seacoast area

FTE Part-time
Salary Information

This position is 10 hours per week, flexible days and times.
This position can be combined with another RA opening in the Keene area for someone who is willing to travel, for a total of 25 hours per week.
Non-Benefit position.
