Summary of Position

The Director of Nursing will serve as the academic leader of the Nursing Program. This includes accreditation oversight; curriculum development in collaboration with the Nursing Faculty; supervision and leadership of faculty; and oversight of departmental resources. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, a sound professional reputation, commitment to excellence in education and teaching and possess strong, collaborative decision-making skills. This is a 12-month full-time clinical or tenure-track appointment and rank will be negotiable at Associate Professor or Professor level based upon academic credentials and experience.

Acceptable Minimum Qualifications

An earned Doctorate in Nursing or related field
Master’s Degree in Nursing
Experience consistent with appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor
Deep understanding of nursing accreditation, curriculum development and assessment of student learning
Eligible to be licensed in New Hampshire
Minimum of six years of full-time experience in Higher Education in Nursing Education
Minimum of two years of supervisory experience
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Desire to participate as part of the Health and Human Enrichment Integrated Cluster Team

Duties / Responsibilities

Job Duties


Provide vision and leadership to advance the goals and objectives of the Nursing Program and support an affirming environment for students, faculty and staff.
In collaboration with faculty oversee curriculum, student learning assessment, and program accreditations.
Ensure clear program policies regarding student admission and progression, field placement expectations, lab protocols etc.
Manage program administrative responsibilities and budget oversight.
Supervise and evaluate nursing faculty and staff.
In collaboration with the faculty and staff, establish clinical partnerships and/or relationships with local, state, regional and national health care organizations.
Engage in strategic planning.
Teaching as needed to deliver the curriculum.
