Summary of Position

Supervises and assists the Operations Manager in the supervisor of 10 small scale restaurants, cafes, and convenience stores, including a mobile trailer located at three UNH Campuses and generating $5 million in sales under their scope of responsibilities. The incumbent is responsible for supporting the OM in resolving staffing, shortages, operational issues and performance problems as well as performing regular sites visits and coaching teams on operational expectations. Position may be responsible for customer service, food production, and other daily operations including maintaining related software and POS systems.

Other minimum qualifications

1. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in a food service operation.
2.Two years related supervisory experience.
3.Knowledge of food service metrics, processes, sanitation, and safety.
4. Strong interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize work.
6. Proficiency in industry- related computer applications.
7. Must be able to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience in a college/university environment.
2. Serv-Safe Certified.
3. Public speaking/presentation skills.

Job Duties

Duty/Responsibility

*Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, develop a working knowledge of staffing levels for all locations— understanding both peak and down times working with unit supervisors to ensure those levels are providing expected efficiencies and customer service.
*Assist in overseeing the training and development of staff to ensure that all franchise requirements (i.e, Starbucks, Pita Pit) are met.
*Assist in enforcing Associate Handbook and other Hospitality Services and University guidelines, Coach and counsel associates as necessary, communicating any ongoing issues to the Operations Manager.
*Work with student staff on developing desired behaviors and competencies that support the business mission of Hospitality Services. Assist in creating and sustaining a successful student supervisor training program for the department. Participate in all student supervisor meetings.

Duty/Responsibility

*Promote and monitor product specifications pertaining to preparation, service, storage and pricing
*Assist in the development and adherence to minimum service and delivery times and take appropriate corrective actions when standards are not met.
*Help ensure the successful passing of all state health inspections with scores exceeding 90 with no major violations.
*Monitor and assist units in complying with strict department and University cash handling policies and procedures and communicate discrepancies to the OM Audit units periodically
*Review and address missed punches with supervisors on a case by case basis
*Participate in all monthly meetings and opportunities for professional development
*Communicate with vendors as necessary

Duty/Responsibility

*Assist with Food Pro, Blackboard, Kronos, and POS initiatives and data maintenance
*Assist in developmental of budgets for all departmental locations
*Monitor labor hours and food cost on weekly basis, comparing actual to budget and suggesting remedial action when appreciate.
*Directly supervise units in the event of coverage issues, including Union Court during summer months
*Share in accountability for unit financial results
