Summary of Position

The primary responsibility of Moodle Administrator is to ensure that the LMS performs efficiently and effectively to meet the changing needs of the College. In addition, the Moodle Administrator will help shape the evolution of the learning management system including innovative processes and technologies that create a competitive advantage for the College.

Bachelor’s plus four years, Associations plus six years, or a combination of education and experience of six or more years. Experience with Learning Management Systems is required, along with experience configuring users, courses, enrollments, and integration(s) via LTI or similar technology. Must be familiar with SQL, HTML and CSS.

Duties / Responsibilities

Job Duties

Duty/Responsibility

Maintain users, courses, enrollments, profiles, permissions, layouts, including automated data import processes. Monitors the help desk incoming queue for LMS problems and takes ownership of more difficult problems. Attends to any escalated LMS technical issues, and communicates issues to stakeholders. Provides technical support to faculty and students in the use of the Moodle LMS.

Participate in, and provide support for internal technology development and system integration efforts as a LMS subject matter expert.

Work with management to identify new and creative opportunities to leverage LMS to support additional business processes or functions.

Manage relationships with key LMS support team members, integration partners, and third party consultants. Solicit feedback and requirements from a diverse user group spanning multiple departments throughout the organization.

Ensure that the LMS performs efficiently and effectively to meet the changing needs of the College.

Work with Academic Affairs and Student Services to research, develop, implement, and evaluate reporting and analytic systems for quality monitoring in course development and delivery, student success support, and initiatives in accreditation, ranking, student retention, and related needs of the College

Review and evaluate current and emerging learning management systems and related technologies to support online and face-to-face learning

Duty/Responsibility

Serves as primary liaison between the LMS vendor and our college to manage system upgrades and handle any outstanding technical issues with the system; addresses bugs and other system issues from identification through resolution.

Develops strategy, design, and implementation of web content management, digital asset management and other technology solutions in the learning management experience space. (e.g.web-conferencing, e-portfolios and other LTI plugins).

Recommends processes, tools and/or structural designs to promote improved knowledge management and organizational efficiency of LMS and Implements as appropriate.(e.g.new Moodle Blocks)

Customizes and brands LMS for GSC internal departments & external partners. (e.g. graduate, E&TP, SOE)
