USNH is the largest provider of postsecondary education in the Granite State. With approximately 34,000 enrolled students annually and more than 90,000 alumni living in state, the institutions of the University System – the University of New Hampshire, Plymouth State University, Keene State College, and Granite State College – have a direct impact on hundreds of thousands of New Hampshire citizens every year.

The Open Education Support Assistant will work with members of the USNH Academic Technology Steering Committee (ATSC) to support the development of a system wide open education initiative (Open Educational Resources, Open Pedagogy and Open Access).

This part-time term position requires a highly organized, nimble individual with excellent written and oral communication skills, project management experience, initiative and ability to support multiple groups including academic technology, assessment, and library staff dispersed across the state.

This part-time hourly position will report to the ATSC Chair in Concord, NH. Much of this work will be conducted remotely and on campuses as-needed. Hours of work will be project-based and will typically be between 5-20 hours per week. A computer and internet access is required.

Required Qualifications

HS or equivalent and 2 years experience. Ability to organize and prioritize work, meet deadlines. Event coordination. Good listening, writing and interpersonal skills. Diplomatic, and able to gather and document different points of view of ATSC members. High school degree and 2 years related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiar with website maintenance or content management system (CMS) experience such as Drupal or Wordpress. Social media (Facebook, Twitter, Blogs). Understanding of OER or open education.

Preference will be given to applicants who have experience working in a higher education institution and have some advanced studies beyond high school.
