Summary of Position

Plymouth State University seeks a dynamic leader with significant experience in educator preparation to serve as the Director of the Center for School Partnerships and Educator Preparation. The Director shall provide strategic leadership for educator preparation programs at the graduate and undergraduate levels, ensuring our programs reflect and respond to current educational contexts and prepare educators who can effectively and thoughtfully meet the needs of all P-12 learners. The Director shall lead decision-making in collaboration with faculty related to the four key strands of the Center: assessment and accreditation, clinical practice and school partnerships, professional development, and scholarship and innovation. The Center Director will steward the quality and continuity of educator preparation at the program and institutional levels.

Acceptable Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate in Education or related field
Five years of experience in educator preparation in higher education
Evidence of strong leadership, communication, organization, analytic, and problem-solving skills
Experience managing accreditation in Educator Preparation such as Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC), National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and program approval at the state level
Understanding of and experience managing program assessment, data management and analysis, and reporting
Strong understanding of P-12 educational systems
Experience with P-12 school/University partnerships
Evidence of the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholders
A robust understanding of the current issues related to educator preparation, including but not limited to, clinical practice and partnerships as well as assessment and accreditation
Understanding of current initiatives, policies and regulations, and issues on the state and national level
Strong understanding of current educational contexts and the ability to determine implications for educator preparation at the undergraduate and graduate levels
Ability to work with confidential materials and information

Additional Preferred Qualifications

Two years of experience supervising others
Experience with culturally diverse student populations
Experience/knowledge working with rural schools
Scholarship in the area of education preparation or related field
