Summary of Position

The Department of Kinesiology at the University of New Hampshire is currently seeking applicants for a 3-year appointment (with potential for renewal) as a Clinical Faculty Member in the Outdoor Education option with a start date of August, 2018. This is an open-rank position, the focus of which is to coordinate the undergraduate program in Outdoor Education and teach core classes in the undergraduate curriculum. Acceptable Minimum Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a Masters degree, and preferably a Ph.D., in Education, Outdoor Education, Outdoor Recreation Management, Program Administration, Leisure Studies, or a related area. Candidates with substantial program management experience, possessing strong organizational skills and showing evidence of excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level, are preferred. Familiarity with learning management systems such as Canvas and student record and management programs is also an asset. Courses that may be taught by the candidate include but are not limited to: Outdoor Leadership, Organization and Administration of Outdoor Education Programs, and skills based/leadership courses involving canoeing, backpacking, challenge course operations, and/or rock climbing. Ability to maintain positive relationships with campus offices (admissions, registrar) and lead internal recruitment and marketing efforts will be required. Successful candidates should also show a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with organizations including professional, college, school, and community based programs in order to establish and manage practicum and internship placements
