Summary of Position

Plymouth State University (PSU) is accepting applications for an Information Support Assistant in the Admissions office. This position will be on the “front line” as the first point of contact on our phone system as well as the initial face of PSU Admissions to many of our visitors. Additionally, the successful candidate will serve as part of a team to provide operational support for the student application process. To ensure positive customer relations one will demonstrate independent judgment, problem solving skills, and the initiative to work collaboratively with students, the entire Admissions team, and other campus offices.

Other minimum qualifications

- High school diploma or GED.
- Three years of computer related experience, or a combination of higher education and experience equal to three years.
- Customer service experience.
- Ability to provide office support.
- Comprehensive computer skills utilizing computer applications such as: the Microsoft Office suite of products, e-mail, and data entry/retrieval/management. Experience using Salesforce, Banner Student, or other Student Information Systems (SIS) would be a plus.
- Demonstrated multi-tasking skills.
- Excellent interpersonal ability.
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
- Organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working in higher education.
- Familiarity with Banner Student.
- Salesforce Experience.
- Experience with BDMS Xtender.

Salary Information

Salary is complemented by a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical, dental, retirement, tuition, and paid time off.
Salary Range: $13.41-$16.50

Duties / Responsibilities

Job Duties


Assist Admission Office counselors with application processing and or office policy questions.


Customer Service: (applicants, parents, guidance counselors) Assist via telephone, email or in person with questions re: the application process and /or requirement policies. Research and resolve problems.


Manage the Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) for the Admission office. Includes troubleshooting technical problems, consulting with Telecom re: solutions, creating and recording multiple greetings, and activating and deactivating curtailed operations messages.


Application data entry within Salesforce and Banner SIS: Special attention to detail and accuracy is imperative. Enrollment History High School information: Verify graduation date; enter class rank, class size and GPA from official high school transcript. Enrollment History College information: Verify attendance dates. Determine authenticity of transcript and enter transcript receive date and GPA. General Person Identification: Verify accuracy or update name, address and telephone data. Remove duplicate entries by merging contacts where appropriate. Assign Decisions to Application: Determine if application is complete and ready for Admission Committee review and assign appropriate decision code.


Review and update applications via Salesforce; associate materials (re: transcripts, recommendations) with applicants within BDMS Xtender and Salesforce; review files (digital and paper) and process updates when new materials are received; open assemble and distribute mail as needed; run errands, mailings and miscellaneous tasks as required by other staff members.
