Summary of Position

Now is an exciting time to join Plymouth State in pioneering a progressive learning model and nurturing tomorrow’s leaders. The College of Business Administration, an ACBSP-accredited program, invites applications for one (1) full-time faculty position beginning in August, 2018. We seek a talented individual who is a self-directed learner, who is excited by the various changes happening in the discipline and is willing to ride the waves. Interested candidates must be excited by and willing to engage in curriculum design and course design. Applicants should have a record of teaching excellence in the field, experience teaching diverse learners, experience integrating technology with instruction, a willingness to teach traditional, blended and online graduate and undergraduate classes, and demonstrated or strong potential for future scholarship. Scholarship is a requirement for the tenure track position only. Professional experience in the field is a plus.

Acceptable Minimum Qualifications

PMI accreditation (preferably PMP)
MBA degree or master’s degree in an associated or related field
Practitioner or executive experience in operations management
Two years (or equivalent) of undergraduate or graduate teaching experience in the field
Ability and interest in teaching operations management, project management and/or courses in specialty management areas
Interest in course and curriculum design in the discipline
Familiarity with the use of learning management systems such as Moodle
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues and business partners outside PSU
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Additional Qualifications for Tenure-Track Consideration:
Earned doctorate in Operations Management, Management, Business Administration or related area
A record of scholarship or strong potential for scholarship

Additional Preferred Qualifications

Membership in professional organizations
Practitioner or executive experience

Duties / Responsibilities

Job Duties


For a regular 9-month teaching appointment at PSU, the teaching load for promotion-eligible, non-tenure track teaching faculty is 30-32 credits and 24 credits for tenure-track positions. The successful candidate is expected to teach on-campus, at regional offsite locations during evening hours or weekends and online using the platform adopted by the University. Faculty is also responsible for advising students, engaging with external partners and developing or participating in open labs. The suitable candidate will demonstrate evidence of their own continuous learning, innovative course and curriculum design, pedagogy to support experiential learning and professional development of students, as well as active engagement in scholarship (tenure track position only) and service. Successful candidates will also assist in developing innovative open lab and cluster projects that engage students in applied experiential activities which foster collaboration between multidisciplinary faculty and external partners.
