Summary of Position

Under general direction of the Sr. Procurement Manager for Contract Management and/or other designated supervisor to support the efficient management of contracting for goods and services in accordance with University System policies and procedures. The Procurement Business Analyst will be responsible for providing operational and technical support to Procurement Services Teams.

BS or BA from accredited university required.

Experience communicating and collaborating with cross-functional teams and strategic business partners in a matrix organization.

Experience working with more than one work stream simultaneously, as well as collaborating with others on the successful implementation of a key project, initiative, rollout, etc.

Knowledge of reporting, forecasting and financial analysis.

Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using AVERAGE function, merging and centering cells, printing centered page and/or creating a pivot table and V-Lookup, etc.).

Advanced level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: changing picture styles, customizing animation and/or setting automatic slide timings).

Advanced level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: adding developer tab, creating a macro, formatting table style, inserting comments and/or creating a mail merge).

Excellent judgment and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills while working collaboratively in a team environment with all levels of the company.

Duties / Responsibilities

Job Duties


Contract Lifecycle:

Responsible for the management of the Universities Contract Management tool, including the inbounding of contracts and associated documents into the system.

Support the contract execution, renewal and cancelation process, though the application of contract reporting, business process management and communication.

Develop and maintain robust contract utilization reporting and analysis to support the efficient and effective procurement of goods and services.

Assist with and improve contracts management process and system, as well as implementation of contract policies.


Spend Analytics:
Develops and assesses benchmarking metrics to measure performance, and uses the data to analyze program success and opportunities.

Identify and develop data sources to support business requirements/KPI’s, including measurement analytics and end user reporting.

Responsible for developing an understanding of the complex data environment in order to enhance standard reports, perform analysis and develop ad hoc queries and reports. Requires the ability to troubleshoot, retrieve data from multiple environments, identify trends, perform analysis and make recommendations.
Maintains data sets, including developing processes to validate data accuracy and integrity.


Operational Support:

Work closely with the USNH FAST team for the maintenance and administration of e-procurement7 systems, including the testing of system upgrades and business reports relevant to Procurement. Works with business owners and stakeholders to review and help prioritize suggested improvements, system enhancements and resolutions. Escalates the more complex questions, but follows up for resolution.

Assist Procurement Services team teams in responding to information requests and audits from state and federal regulators.

Maintain necessary files/records as required.
