Job Title ADJUNCT FACULTY POSITIONS IN ARCHITECTURE
Job Description

The Architecture program at Keene State College, announces the following open adjunct faculty positions. These part-time, non-benefited positions are needed to provide quality instruction and effective teaching in the following courses for spring semester 2018 and beyond:

1. Arch 280 Collaborative Architectural Project: This is a required sophomore project-centered course using a problem-based service learning methodology. Students work in teams to conduct real world projects for local, regional, and international non-profit organizations and governmental agencies. Projects can involve site analysis, programming, planning, schematic design, and construction management. The students work directly with the clients and collaborate on design solutions.

2. CAD Courses:
• Arch 120 Architectural CAD I: a thorough and applied knowledge of latest AutoCAD and Google SketchUp software is required,
• Arch 220 Architectural CAD II: a thorough and applied knowledge of the latest Autodesk Revit software is required, and
• Arch 320 Architectural CAD III: basic applied knowledge of Autodesk Revit and Google SketchUp, and a thorough and applied knowledge of the latest Adobe Creative Suite is required.

3. Arch 360 Solar Design and Building Science II: The course is an elective focusing on designing Passive and Active Solar Systems for buildings, performance modeling, and advanced building science. Includes the basic principles, performance calculations, design optimization, architectural integration of solar energy systems, air quality, and moisture control. Students design combined solar systems applying principles of advanced building science.

Our students come from diverse socio-economic and educational backgrounds, with a high percentage of first generation college students. By the time Keene State College students complete their undergraduate experience they develop critical thinking, creative inquiry, intercultural competence, civic engagement, and commitment to well-being that will serve them as active citizens and lifelong learners. Required Qualifications

Arch 280 Collaborative Architectural Project Qualifications: Candidates must have a minimum of one year of relevant professional experience and an appropriate depth of knowledge in project management and design.

CAD Courses Qualifications: A minimum of one year of relevant full time professional experience.

Arch 360 Solar Design and Building Science II Qualifications: Candidates must have professional experience and an appropriate educational background in building science and solar design.

Preferred Qualifications

Arch 280 Collaborative Architectural Project Preferred Qualifications: A professional degree in architecture and prior teaching experience.

CAD Courses Preferred Qualifications: Prior CAD teaching experience, and knowledge and experience in translating CAD files into 3D prototyping software applications and hardware. The Architecture program is interested in enriching the curriculum with modern, low cost architectural rendering and VR applications.

Arch 360 Solar Design and Building Science II Preferred Qualifications: Prior teaching experience.
