Summary of Position

As part of the Central Finance team, this position will be responsible for managing two major segments of the University’s All-funds Budget Development Process, preparing current year financial projections, analyzing and summarizing current year revenues and expenses, preparing historical reports/charts/graphs, performing ad hoc analyzes, preparing specific financial reports to key external agencies, and supervising two Accountant Positions, whose responsibilities include but are not limited to reconciliations, merchant services, and chart of accounts maintenance.

Other minimum qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field.
- 3 years of progressively responsible professional work experience in budget development and management as well as financial analysis and reporting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of general accounting principles – GASB/FASB
- Demonstrated knowledge of fund accounting principles.
- Intermediate to Advanced experience in Excel – formulas, charts, and graphs.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Experience with computerized financial accounting software.
- Knowledge of statistics, AICPA and NACUBO guidelines, applicable state/federal legislation.
- Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills.
- Analytical ability and organizational skills. – Customer Service experience.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

- Master’s degree in accounting/finance.
- Experience working in an institution of higher education.
- Experience in Ellucian/Banner system.
- Presentation experience.
- Supervisory experience.

Salary Information

Salary is complemented by a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical, dental, retirement, tuition, and paid time off.
Salary Range: $52,520 to $70,000. Final salary will depend on education and experience.

Duty/Responsibility

Manages the Campus Budget Process: Manages Position Control; Prepares annual campus budget guide (including schedule of deadlines, guidelines and parameters); Examines the budget submissions for completeness, reasonableness, accuracy, and conformance with University guidelines and parameters. Implements strategies for improving the budget process. Manages General Institution budget entries and all other budget activity outside of the Financial Service Center domain.

Duty/Responsibility

Coordinates the campus current fiscal year projection process. Examines the projections for completeness, reasonableness, accuracy, and conformance with University guidelines. Analyzes spending/revenues; identify areas of concerns; make recommendations to solve budget issues (short term and/or long-term). Acts as Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) tool site administrator and will serve as the local trainer.

Duty/Responsibility

Provides financial reporting/analysis on special Campus-held funds (Strategic Investment Fund; Advancement Fund; One-time Request Fund; etc.,) and ad hoc analysis per requests from AVPFA, VPFA, and Director. Serves a point-person for the new Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) tool and will serve as the local trainer, if/when it is rolled out to other campus constituents.

Provides Historical Financial Reports, Charts and Graphs for presentations by AVPFA and VPFA.
Maintains primary data sources for routine reports.
Analyzes the data to identify important trends.
