Summary of Position

The Director of Alumni Relations, Regional Engagement serves as an integral member of the Alumni Relations leadership team. Reporting to the Executive Director of Alumni Engagement, this position will play a critical role in the cohesive outreach effort to cultivate and sustain relationships among the University of New Hampshire’s constituents. The Director will manage assigned alumni programs, while promoting the involvement and participation of alumni, parents, donors, and friends of the university, thus creating lifelong relationships.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Engagement
Design and implement strategy for regional engagement, ensuring a supportive and collaborative structure among the networks. This position will refine recruitment and succession plans for all regional network committees with a goal of providing continuity in leadership and sustainable programs. As the liaison to the regional alumni steering committees outside of NH, the director will promote autonomy and independence,building an even stronger UNH regional presence.

Management:
Direct supervisor for associate and/or assistant directors. Provide guidance and direction regarding the coordination of team’s initiatives and programs. Manage the level of productivity in alignment with departmental requirements and expectations. Assist in developing a master advancement programs calendar, to include Executive Forums, for each fiscal year.

Other minimum qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred. Minimum 7 years of supervisory experience in volunteer management, event planning, higher education, development or other related field. Effective written and oral communication skills. Proven competency in strategic planning, volunteer program planning, networking and an ability to lead collaborative teams from various units across the institution. Effective management of time and efficiency working with multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong computer literacy with an understanding of social media platforms. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with a high level of professionalism. Travel is required, with ability to work nights and weekends.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree preferred.

Set a comprehensive strategy for all alumni regional networks outside of New Hampshire, this includes evaluating current structure and refining the tiered system of services and support. Develop consistent messaging, events, tools and resources for each network.

Serve as primary liaison to alumni networks, providing oversight while designing and implementing programs to maintain, grow and steward regional events and alumni networks based on the goals of Advancement.

Analyze event related data to identify future network initiatives and continually enhance current programming.

Partner with colleagues across campus to manage the design, execution and evaluation of programs and events that cultivate and sustain relationships with alumni.
