Summary of Position

Join the busy office environment of a highly engaged and collaborative cross-functional Human Resources Office team who provide superior customer service to the 1,000+ benefited and non-benefited faculty and staff at Keene State College. We are seeking a dynamic individual with strong, positive, interpersonal and customer service skills to work in a team structure. This position requires an individual capable of managing multiple priorities, and be a self-directed, pro-active problem solver with highly developed analytical and critical thinking skills.

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this position is a generalist in nature and will be responsible for a variety of managerial, technical and confidential responsibilities to support various aspects of human resources administration at the College, including but not limited to, classification and compensation, recruitment, benefits, compliance, reporting, training, policy development, employee and labor relations and policy and procedure communications and other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Additional duties and responsibilities include: assisting the Director of Human Resources with resolving day-to-day contractual questions/issues, the grievance and disciplinary process, and other related duties as required in accordance with the relevant policies, rules regulations, practices, procedures and agreements; conduct discrimination and harassment investigations; thoroughly investigate, develop and make recommendations to appropriate stakeholders for resolutions for complaints; interview, gather, analyze, organize, compile documentary evidence from multiple sources for investigative reports, proposed disciplinary actions, respond to state and federal government agencies, administrative hearings and mediations; maintain confidential case file investigations. Participate in relevant educational and professional development to remain current in the field; attend meetings and serve on relevant committees on campus and within the USNH; perform other related duties and projects as assigned.

Other minimum qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field (i.e., Business, Human Resources), five years of Human Resource experience, preferably in public higher education and in the areas of Training, Employee Relations, and classification, compensation. Thorough knowledge of relevant state and federal areas of compliance, related procedures for areas of responsibility (FLSA, EEO, AA, etc.); proven listening, presentational and facilitation skills and ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, to a variety of constituents; intermediate to advanced technical proficiency using computerized office systems and software (Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Banner, PeopleAdmin); strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to evaluate data, complex issues, problem solving and providing appropriate responsive solutions; demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team, to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities, demonstrated record of providing superior customer service, excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

Experience conducting complex internal investigations and writing reports within organizational settings. Employee relations experience in a public higher education human resource setting, strong time management skills, experience with employee/labor relations, negotiation and conflict resolution skills, thorough attention to detail and confidentiality, experience in HRIS systems such as Banner, supervisory experience.
