Job Description

The Music Department at Keene State College seeks a highly organized and flexible individual to fill the role of Music Publicity Assistant. This is a part-time, non-benefited position (20 hours per week, M-F 8am-Noon). This position will publicize and promote all department events, coordinate poster and program production and perform office work related to publicity. Salary range: $14-$15/hr., depending on qualifications. Desired start date is January 4, 2018.

Responsibilities:
I. Publicize and promote all department events (100+ events)
• Write press releases for upcoming department events
• Submit ads and serve as liaison for advertising opportunities
• Maintain department calendar
• Update KSC Events on department website
• Advertise upcoming events with campus wide announcements via Keene.edu and Outlook
• Publicize all events to outside free online and printed event calendars
• Post regular updates to social media accounts (Twitter/Facebook etc.), before and immediately following all department events

II. Coordinate poster and program production and store completed info to ‘Google Drive’
• Work with faculty and graphic designers to produce posters
• Work with faculty to produce programs for all performance events, including coordination of program notes, bios, and other program information
• Email posters and programs to campus print shop for printing

III. Perform office work related to publicity
• Maintain performance information with regard to ticket sales, attendance numbers, names of music students who worked on a given event
• Maintain email to music@keene.edu and redistribute items of interest to social media
• Maintain schedule of performances, updating the RAC and Music Department Google Calendars and ’25 Live’ as performances are added, removed, or adjusted
• Maintain mailing lists for PR updates, Festivals, and other Department needs
• Assist with any ad hoc mailings needed by faculty, generally for special events
• Write and maintain help notes relating to this position

Required Qualifications

Strong writing and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of music is preferred along with college degree, one-year of experience, specialized training, or any combination of experience and additional training equal to one year; demonstrated organizational skills; strong attention to detail with focus on accuracy; ability to problem-solve, manage and prioritize multiple tasks; demonstrated proficiency with MS Office systems, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
